Nevada Health Centers is here to support your child’s healthcare needs through all stages of childhood — from before birth through adolescence.

We suggest that expectant mothers find a pediatrician (a doctor who specializes in children’s health) within three months of their expected due date. Our pediatricians will provide valuable information and care to foster your child’s growth and good health.

Baby Safety Do's:

  • Receive regular prenatal check-ups
  • Use a firm sleep surface for your baby
  • Place your baby on his or her back to sleep.
  • Place baby safely in his or her own crib.
  • Breastfeed
  • Properly install a rear-facing car seat before your baby is born.

Baby Safety Don'ts:

  • Do not smoke or drink alcohol during your pregnancy or after the baby’s birth.
  • Do not share a bed with your baby.
  • Do not put your baby to sleep in a car seat as a regular sleeping environment.
  • Properly store items such as cleaning supplies and medicine that may be dangerous to your baby.
