Services: Family medicine, preventive health, women’s health, children’s health and immunizations, newborn care, pharmacy services, health education. Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) physicals are also conducted in this office.
How to be a patient: Amargosa Valley Medical Center accepts new patients. It is appreciated if you call in advance for an appointment. The Medical Center welcomes most private insurance, Medicaid, Medicare, Women’s Health Connection and Nevada Check-Up. A sliding fee schedule for low-income patients who do not have insurance is available.
Additional Information: Amargosa Valley Medical Center opened in 1986 to provide medical care to valley residents. The town of Amargosa Valley is located in southern Nye County, just east of Death Valley. Sally K. Miller, PhD, APRN, FNP-BC, AGACNP-BC, AGPCNP-BC, FAANP is a nurse practitioner with 20 years of practice experience and four nurse practitioner board certifications including Family, Acute Care, Adult Primary Care, and Gerontology. She is a Clinical Professor at Drexel University’s College of Nursing and Health Professions and has been an educator of nurse practitioner students for 20 years, teaching graduate level advanced pathophysiology, advanced pharmacology, and adult illness. She has a wide variety of clinical experience, having practice in both the inpatient and outpatient setting, as well as correctional health, long term care, and pediatrics. She currently practices in a rural Nevada.
Dr. Miller is a nationally recognized speaker and presents annually at a variety of nurse practitioner conferences including the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), Nurse Practitioner Associates for Continuing Education (NPACE), the National Conference for Nurse Practitioners (NCNP) as well as numerous local and regional meetings. Dr. Miller has authored over 30 science and clinical articles in peer-refereed professional journals and 5 professional texts. Her book The Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner Certification Guide published by Jones & Bartlett is in its 6th edition. Dr. Miller maintains a diverse consulting practice and has served as an expert witness in more than 20 malpractice cases.
