Alison Ledworowski is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) at Nevada Health Centers. She provides individual, family and couples therapy for children, adolescents and adults.
Alison’s specialty is Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). “This involves the practice of learning to walk the middle ground between black and white thinking,” she explains. “This allows you to see that two ideas can be true at the same time. I personally work with these skills on a daily basis as well, so I do practice what I preach.”
She explains that DBT requires the therapist to be authentic and, at times, confrontational. “While this may be difficult to hear, I believe it’s important for personal growth to acknowledge where we’re getting stuck,” she says. “I will make sure we have a rapport built first and will always welcome feedback.”
Through her nurturing and guidance, Alison creates a safe and non-judgmental environment that allows you to embark on your therapy journey.
“I truly believe that happiness is a choice,” she says. “We often don’t realize we’re capable of accepting or feeling happiness. My hope when working with you is to open you up to the possibility of accepting and creating your own happiness.”
