Putting Patients First: Nevada Health Centers Earns National Quality Recognition

April 14, 2026 Uncategorized

At Nevada Health Centers (NVHC), our goal has always been to provide compassionate, accessible healthcare to our neighbors across the state. This month, we are thrilled to announce that our efforts have been recognized on a national stage. All of our qualifying health centers have officially earned the 2026 National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) Recognition.

What is a Patient-Centered Medical Home?

While “medical home” sounds like a physical place, it is actually a philosophy of care. It means that your primary care provider leads a dedicated team of professionals who work together to coordinate every aspect of your health. Instead of navigating the complex healthcare system alone, we act as your home base for wellness.

Why this matters

Research shows that patients who receive care in a PCMH-recognized facility have better long-term health outcomes. By focusing on the whole person, we can manage chronic conditions more effectively, catch health issues earlier, and ensure shorter wait times and better communication with your doctor.

Celebrating our recognized locations

We are proud to announce that the following sites have received this 2026 national recognition:

  • Northern Nevada: Nevada Health Centers, Inc. – Carlin Community Health Center, Elko Family Medical and Dental Center, Jackpot Community Health Center, Sierra Nevada Health Center, Nevada Health Centers @ Virginia City, and Wendover Community Health Center.
  • Southern Nevada: Nevada Health Centers, Inc. – Amargosa Valley Medical Center, Cambridge Family Health Center, Eastern Family Medical & Dental Center, Nevada Health Centers at Henderson, Las Vegas Outreach Clinic, Martin Luther King Health Center, and North Las Vegas Family Health Center.

A true team effort

This milestone belongs to every member of our staff. We especially want to thank our PCMH recognition team—including Nini Botes Parker, Jenni Wilson, Jeremey Sturgill, Christy Somsen, Angelique Burbridge, and Roberta Casteel—for their guidance.
