On Tuesday, October 13, Nevada Health Centers partnered with the American Cancer Society and the Las Vegas Raiders for the Raiders Tackle Cancer event. This event aimed to educate families about cancer screening and celebrate local survivors during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Taking place at the West Las Vegas Library, the NVHC Mammovan was on-site providing mammography screenings. Additional services available on-site included prostate and skin cancer screenings. Attendees also had access to various health resources and the unique opportunity to meet Raiders players, Raiderettes, and representatives from the American Cancer Society.
This event was part of the American Cancer Society and NFL’s Crucial Catch initiative, which strives to improve access to care. By addressing barriers such as transportation and cost, the initiative helps ensure more individuals receive necessary care. Nevada Health Centers is a proud recipient of the 2026 Crucial Catch CHANGE grant, which aids in providing women with access to breast cancer screening and prevention resources via our NVHC Mammovan. Raiders fullback Connor Heyward, who is this year’s Crucial Catch Ambassador, made a special appearance along with Dylan Laube and Mike Washington, Jr. The trio greeted the community, signed autographs, and conversed with local cancer survivors.
