Bring Your Best Friend for a Check-Up at the Teddy Bear Clinic!

July 10, 2026 Uncategorized

What if a visit to the doctor felt like an adventure?

On Saturday, July 18, Nevada Health Centers Mobile Medical Services invites families to a one-of-a-kind experience at PBS Reno’s Be My Neighbor Day: the Teddy Bear Clinic. Children are encouraged to bring their favorite teddy bear or stuffed animal aboard the Nevada Health Centers mobile medical vehicle for a fun, interactive health check-up. The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Idlewild Park in Reno.

The Teddy Bear Clinic is designed to help children explore healthcare in a friendly, welcoming environment. Young visitors will accompany their furry companions through a pretend medical exam, where Nevada Health Centers providers will perform a “check-up” and demonstrate some of the tools healthcare professionals use every day. Along the way, children can ask questions, learn about healthy habits, and discover that a trip to the doctor doesn’t have to be scary.

Every teddy bear, stuffed puppy, bunny, dinosaur, or beloved plush friend who visits the clinic will receive a Certificate of Good Health to commemorate the experience, along with special goodies for participants. The event is free to attend and welcomes all children, parents, and caregivers. While children enjoy caring for their stuffed friends, families can tour the Nevada Health Centers Mobile Medical Services vehicle and learn more about the healthcare services available to communities across Nevada.
