How to be a patient: Cambridge Family Health Center accepts new patients. It is appreciated if you call in advance for an appointment. The Medical Center welcomes most private insurance, Medicaid, Medicare, Women’s Health Connection and Nevada Check-Up. A sliding fee schedule for low-income patients who do not have insurance is available. Identification and income information is needed to enroll in the sliding fee program.
Appointments are strongly recommended; some sites do see walk-ins for emergency needs. Call the medical center to check on walk-in availability.
Prescription Refills: Ask your pharmacist to fax your request for prescription refills to the doctor; this will speed up your refill process.
Additional Information: Cambridge Family Health Center was opened in 2002 with the assistance of county funds granted by Commissioner Myrna Williams and funds from the Clark County Health Access Consortium. It is located in the Cambridge Community Center which is part of a complex that houses other social service agencies. A multitude of services and activities for individuals and families are available at the Cambridge Community Center.
Carrie Ash-Mott, MD, is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. She earned her medical degree from the Texas Tech School of Medicine. Dr. Ash-Mott says she chose to become a physician because she wanted a career that is challenging and requires continuous learning. She decided to work in community health because it provides an opportunity for all people to get healthcare, regardless of ability to pay.
Amber Lee, APRN, is a board certified Nurse Practitioner. She received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with an emphasis in Biology from University of California, Davis. She continued her education to receive a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of San Francisco. In addition, Amber received her Masters of Nursing in Family Nurse Practitioner from Samuel Merritt University. Amber enjoys fitness, outdoor activities, food fairs and spending quality time with her family.
Pandora Williams, PA-C, provides a wealth of knowledge and expertise caring for patients of all ages as a Physician’s Assistant since 1977 in California, Arizona, Louisiana and Nevada. She attended Charles R. Drew Postgraduate Medical School, PA program and has been providing patient care for more than 20 years.
Amy Christensen, MD, earned her medical degree from Jefferson Medical College, Thomas Jefferson University, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is board certified in pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She has spent the past 19 years working in the Phoenix, Arizona area. During that time, she worked as a pediatrician in private practice and most recently at the Phoenix Children’s Hospital Department of Ambulatory Pediatrics, Homeless Youth Outreach serving homeless and at-risk children/youth while also teaching residents and medical students.
Jinsy Jacob, MD, earned her medical degree from Deakin University, in Melbourne, Australia. She completed her residency at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, New Jersey and then worked as Chief Resident, Pediatrics at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is board certified in pediatrics and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Her special interests include: efficiency in health systems, improving clinic flow, informatics, telemedicine, using technology to deliver healthcare, childhood obesity and coordination of care for medical complex patients. She is familiar with six languages: English (native), Malayalam (advanced), Hindi (intermediate), French (basic), Arabic (reading and writing), basic medical Spanish (basic).
Alison Wicks-Stephens, Licensed Clinical Social Worker was previously with Harmony Healthcare as a psychotherapist. She has worked with children, adolescents and adult patients in a variety of settings including individual, family, couples and group therapies.
Nevada Health Centers (NVHC), a private, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) corporation, is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) commonly called a Community Health Center (CHC) program that is partially funded under Section 330 of the Public Health Service Act. All of our physicians are board certified or board eligible and are licensed in the state of Nevada.
